At the time, Netflix was among the top-grossing apps on Apple's App store. The email kicked off a scramble among Apple managers. The Apple manager wrote that Netflix's planned test raised questions for Apple, including whether to take "punitive measures," such as ceasing to promote Netflix on the App Store or escalating concerns to Netflix executives.
